Price Paid:
$1350.00
from 10.11.2005 Summary: So, this is a very, very GREAT amp.
The building is professional like a HIGH-END. Strengths: Very good 3D sound, non obtrusive, but emphatic with very good dynamic!
The distorsion is very low...
Airy and nice music-stage.
Everything OK! Weaknesses: TOO BIG CHASSIS :-))
finally NONE!!!
GREAT! Similar Products Used: ML, CLASSÉ, ROTEL, KENWOOD, PIONEER...

Review 3 of 21
Price Paid:
$1000.00
from Saturday Audio Summary: Purchased along with NAD S500/S400/S100 products. This is the best bluebook NAD product in the Silver Series Line.
Monster construction and built. Very quiet. Great detail and soundstage. You can pick one up on Audiogon for $800-$1000.
Worth every penny. Matched to S100, it's a hard combination to beat for the price.
Don't purchase a 218THX if you can get an S200 unit.
Using Signal cable Power cord instead of factory standard. WBT 5-way speaker connectors a nice feature. Using balanced inputs from S100 adds gain and openess in sound. Drives my Dynaudio Contour 1.3MK2 without any problems.
Highly recommended Strengths: Super build, Quite, balanced inputs,
Excellent value. Weaknesses: Dual mono design (one more xformer and Power supply)would have been nice. But would have push list price to $2500-3000 instead of $1800-2000. Similar Products Used: Rotel,ARCAM, ADCOM 2-channel power amps.
Not even close to the NAD S200.

Review 4 of 21
Price Paid:
$2000.00 Summary: the price paid includes the pre amp(s100), was a bundle offer.
alot has been said about this wonderful amp , all i can say is there are better amps which will be much more expensive than this, comparing it with other ss amps roughly the same price to 1.5 times. find it to sound very nautural, not tubey or ss but inbetween.
i use it along with the s100, connect them with balanced cables, since they are designed that way and so sound better than unbalanced.
requires good power cords, company supplied are not good. Strengths: personally cant see an amp around its price giving it a tough time.
amazing resolution. Weaknesses: brilliant amp that was not given the appriciation it deserves. out of production

Review 5 of 21
Price Paid:
$0.00 Summary: Fabulously balanced and cleeeeeeannn power! Lovely delivery of entire audio spectrum with a nice natural hint of warmth too. Smooth transitioning yet a clear distinction between instrumentation. Very similar to an Arcam sound but with more grace and detail, perhaps not as "sweet" sounding as Arcam, and a more laid back vocal field. Arcam has a beautiful vocal presentation but sometimes seems to over accentuate the singers presence in the soundstage. Very quiet and dark background. Upgraded from the Anthem MCA20, wich was a great power amp but after adding Kimber 8TC I could hear more treble then I'd prefer so thus became the hunt for a very balanced amp. To upgrade from the Anthem I certainly had to start spending alot of money, and the Nad as a great bargain for amazing sound for a decent price. Strengths: Dual mono mirror amp output stage, Sanken. Heaps of power and headroom, clean presentation. Great for all kinds of music -classical to hardrock, industrial. Amazing bass depth and control. Great articualtion of soundfield. Sounds like a live band is in my living room. Weaknesses: Perhaps not the deepest soundstage I would prefer, which comes at a higher price in better equipment, but my pocketbook isn't going there, nor does it need to. Found the power button popped off and don't know how to fix it properly so had to rig some cloth tape to stick it on. Similar Products Used: Anthem mca 20, Arcam FMJ P25, Arcam avr 200,
