Bottom Line: This as an absolutely spectacular product! I got interested in it from a need to simplify my system from separate amp, preamp, and D/A and thought it looked like a great alternative. What an understatement. Not only was it a great alternative, it completely blew away in every respect my Krell 400 fpb400cx, Mark Levinson 380s and Levinson 36. My speakers are Thielcs3.7s with an SS2 smart sub.
The NAD M2 had better bass, much more extended highs, much better dynamics, and incredible resolution. In the 25 years of being interested in audio gear and music, I have never ever heard an amplifier like this. The difference it made was as big as switching out one loudspeaker for another. It has an incredible ability to sort very complex recordings out with its superb resolution capabilities, but it does not sound harsh or bright (unless the recording is that way). It has lightening speed and reproduces transients with a quickness that is startling. The noise floor is so low that you will hear subtle details you have not heard before on many of your recordings. The tonal balance is also spot on. No major emphasis on any one frequency, but just more of everything compared to all the linear amps I have heard. For example, the high frequencies seem to be much more dynamic an extended, not in terms of any brightness, but just more information, as if you are hearing an extra octave or two that you did not know existed.
I could go on an on, but this amp is a revolutionary product and would be worth it at 3 times its price (not that I could afford it though!). At $6k it worth every cent of its price. I think if this is the direction of new amplifier design with this type of technology, big, hot and expensive linear amps could be in a lot of trouble. I will never go back to a separate amp/preamp. No reason for it when you have the NAD M2.

Bottom Line: FANTASTIC PROduct. No competion at this price. Makes my Dynaudio take a step up, use a Onkyo Ipodtransport to digitally via coax feed the M2. Heard other a mplifieres at 3 times the prices.. NAD outperforms vastly. A MUST buy for enthusiasts
