Strength:

One notable feature of the NAD S 200 Amplifiers for me is their high power output. They provide ample power to drive even demanding speakers, ensuring a dynamic and engaging listening experience. I enjoy soft melodies or intense bass, so these amplifiers deliver the necessary power to reproduce sound accurately across the entire frequency range.

Strength:

A bought this amp together with the S100 preamp and the cd-player for a very good price. I drive a pair of Alon model 1's and I sometimes switch to KEF R101. After playing system for a few weeks, I decided to sell the spinner and the preamp. The preamp went away, because I liked the S200 with a good passive preamp more. The S200 however, is a keeper! I love this NAD for it's 'unlimited power', yet delicate sound. It might not be the most thrilling amp around (compared it to a good NAIM), but it is very allround and doesn't show any weaknesses. I can highly recommend the amp in combination with a good passive pre, which really lets the amp shine on it's own. The amp will go away for modification this month. The capacitors will be replaced by Nichicon Gold. I'm very currious about what it will do to the performance of this already belter of an amp. A part from the sound quality, I love the looks. XLR is great. The option of using it as a mono block is also a nice feature. This amp is not going anywhere - and I've owned many amps. Higly recommended.

Weakness:

I can't say anything bad.

Strength:

Teac has split the BIAS trap for LH and EE tape. If your not using more than 4 different brands of tape, then it's possible to set the recording level for example on the Maxell UD type. XLI is more sensitive, so be aware that switching between source and tape while recording the output level must be turned down. This is why Teac has put an adjustable output level on the deck. Strength:

Keep them within power limits, no bridging into 4 ohms, soft clipping OFF, best sounding amplifier I've tested on Magnepan MG 3.6/R, Including Electrocompaniet, Nakamichi, Rotel, Adcom, Emotiva, H/K, Yamaha

Weakness:

They look cheap, 60 pounds and sharp edges, no handles.

Strength:

Super build, Quite, balanced inputs, Excellent value.

Weakness:

Dual mono design (one more xformer and Power supply)would have been nice. But would have push list price to $2500-3000 instead of $1800-2000.

Purchased along with NAD S500/S400/S100 products. This is the best bluebook NAD product in the Silver Series Line. Monster construction and built. Very quiet. Great detail and soundstage. You can pick one up on Audiogon for $800-$1000. Worth every penny. Matched to S100, it's a hard combination to beat for the price. Don't purchase a 218THX if you can get an S200 unit. Using Signal cable Power cord instead of factory standard. WBT 5-way speaker connectors a nice feature. Using balanced inputs from S100 adds gain and openess in sound. Drives my Dynaudio Contour 1.3MK2 without any problems. Highly recommended

Strength:

personally cant see an amp around its price giving it a tough time. amazing resolution.

Weakness:

brilliant amp that was not given the appriciation it deserves. out of production

the price paid includes the pre amp(s100), was a bundle offer. alot has been said about this wonderful amp , all i can say is there are better amps which will be much more expensive than this, comparing it with other ss amps roughly the same price to 1.5 times. find it to sound very nautural, not tubey or ss but inbetween. i use it along with the s100, connect them with balanced cables, since they are designed that way and so sound better than unbalanced. requires good power cords, company supplied are not good.
