Strength:

This was described in reviews as the best solid state amplifier available. I have to say, I agree. There is absolutely nothing in its sound, presentation and dynamics that I can find fault with. And it looks the part too! Yes, you are gong to need to match it with other high-end components, but that's where this is firmly angled anyway. I have it partnered with a John Sampson modified MF A308cr pre-amp, and it's stunning!

Weakness:

It's heavy. Very heavy. Did I say how heavy it is? IT'S HEAVY! This poses a clear and present danger of breaking anything less than than the most robust racks. Oh, and much as I do agree with the old adage of leaving your kit powered on, if you do it with this it will heat up your listening room, and make sure you buy shares in your energy provider. Best to just switch it on 30 minutes or so before a listening session, to let it warm up (the sound changes SIGNIFICANTLY when it's warm).
