Review 3 of 4 Summary: Not many people have heard of Musical Design but if you're looking to get a solid state amp for around $1500 you can't go wrong with this. The company is based in St. Louis and started out as an amp modifing company and were so good at that they started making their own. I love this amp! I also have the SP2B tube preamp and I love that too. I recently sent it in to upgrade to the D150B and get new preamp tubes installed, all for $350. I can tell a noticable difference in detail and resolution. Experiencd audiophiles that I have talked to say this is the best amp in it's price range.
Check it out! http://musicaldesign.com/ Strengths: Nice airy, detailed presentation. Weaknesses: None

Review 4 of 4 Summary: This amp just plain sounds good. It is everything that the literature says it is;unshakable, silky, detailed, solid soundstage etc.Bought it on the advise of someone who knows alot more than I do and the fact that I have one of their old Hafler kit Mods preamps from 13 years ago(klunky but sounds good). There are three versions-std,signature and platinum.Great parts, build and look. I have owned some good amps in the past-Proceed HPA,Eagle2c,Krell 250,Marantz M-700s, and this one just does more things right.I'm using a EAD Ovation,Snell E.5s,Denon DCD 1650,Musical Concepts phono stage,Oracle Alexandria table.
