This is a very loveably amplifier in all ways, sounds, looks and sounds etc etc.....If you`re in for simplicity and smooth tubelike sound, this is the amplifier for you. It`s a bit warm in its sound, but very accourate and fast in the lower end. The top is silky smooth, great midrange and a punshing bass. Lavardin have created something they call "memory free distortion", and it`s still a mystery to many what thats about, but it works!
About my set-up: Lavardin IT, Jean Marie Reynaud: Orfeo speakers, Rega Saturn CD, Rega P7 turntable with Rega Exact PU and Rega Eoa Riaa. Cables: Speaker: JMR, Interconnect between cd and amplifier: Acoustic zen: Matrix ref 2, between riaa and amplifier: Lavardin interconnect. I`m abit hot for Lavardin`s speaker cables model CX. Iv`e been told that the IT likes Lavardins own cables and i`m also fond of the Lavardin interconnect between Riaa and IT, and i think im gonna change the interconnect between Saturn and IT, sp that i`m kepp it all Lavardin. I like it simple.
This is truely and amplifier for life, once you hear this, you`re just hooked and this should be the amplifier wich others should be meesured after!

this is an outstanding amplifier. Very simple in its build up, and looks. Only 45 watt idle, but those are true watts, so you can count on this amplifier. It gives you thrills and goosebumps all over you, when you listen too it. Lavardin has build it on something they call "memory free distortion", and it`s still a mystery to many what thats about, but it makes the amplifier sound like the best tube`s, and this from an transistor build one. Everyone whos in doubt about this amplifier, need to hear it. I hooked it with my Jean Marie Reynaud, Orfeo and it sounds just great. A bit warm, but silky smooth treble, great midrange and a punshing bass.
About cables, i recommend Lavardins own cable series: the interconnect, and speaker cables CX and also their power chords. When you hooked it up with these, it`s just incredible how it sounds, you get the best out of this amplifier. My system is CD player: Rega Saturn, Turntable: Rega P7 with Rega exact pu, Rega Eos riaa, all with Lavardin interconnect cables and power chords. I`m really an Lavardin man!
This is an amplifier for life, once your heard this, every other amplifier just sounds blur!!!

Transparent,

I dont like the highs
Bass lacks echo and resonnance, its not warm not cold, but just could be fuller,

its the 2008 brand new, around 8000,

Well, i use it on spendor top of line, with naim cd source top of line.

Sound is imo transparent,

The bass is not as good imo than on my other system, but it is the naim,

Lavardin is not good in the high frequency, and imo it colors the sound a lot even if its transparent-but could blame other components maybe ?,
looking for a pass lab to replace it.

Nothing. Its 50 watts p.c. are true, and the punch is ensured.

Model IT is an unbelievable solid state amplifier. It sounds like a best tube, but with less distortion and noise, and with wide frequency response. It's near the perfection. IT lacks nothing. It's transparent, you hear that there is nothing between source and speakers.
If you like the "creative" amplifiers, see elsewhere.

But if you like the transparent amplifiers, in the world there are not many chooses.
Model IT is amplifier for purity's lovers.

This amp is incredible,(I have the IS Reference which uses many of the components from the legendry IT) The mid range is amazingly natural.It especially likes female voices. I swear Diana Krall stands in front of me every time. Real spooky! Dont be put off by the lack of facilities, you dont need them! I swopped this for an Active Linn system and dont regret it one little bit. How on earth can a rather plain Intergrated blow away a bi active set up I really don't know. Enough said.

This amp is something really special.
The soundstage of this amp is simply enormous. Detail is stunning on everything, you can hear every instrument with total clarity and without the slightest edginess.
I never heard anything like it in my whole life.
If you don't listen to this amp, you simply cannot imagine how music can sound.
Forget about big combi's, Levinson and those other expensive stuff. The lavardin isn't cheap, but definetely worth his price.

Quite unlike anything else. All the transparency of a valve amp with the weight and punch of a solid state amp.

Low power output, few facilities.

I actually own a Lavardin pre-power combo, which is basically a more powerful version of the IT. I have to say that Lavardin are doing something very different to most amp makers out there, as they do seem to offer the best of both the transistor and valve worlds.

Once you've heard a Lavardin amp most others will sound hard and cluttered by comparison. Just don't expect any bells and whistles, you get source selection and volume and nothing else, but that seems like a very small price to pay for such amazing sound quality.

this intergrated is probably the best amplifier i have ever listend to int or pre power. when used in a small/medium sized with totem model 1s or dynaudio 1.1s/1.3s it is probably umbeatable. words cannot explain how downright diffrent it sounds. go listen.
