Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:
firstly the reason I am given these amp such a poor review is not because of it''s sound, krell have always made good amps, It is because their amp don''t seem to last long on the market for instance ml33h these amp have been around since the ksa series of amp now I hear there are new set of krell amps coming out soon, So that 4 changes to ml0, I am sorry your mad to buy krell none of there amps have been upgradeable you have to be very rich to keep upto date because after 2-3years you have to sell up and the money you have wasted is enough to buy a small car

Strengths:
good amps

Weaknesses:
not upgrageable

Similar Products Used:
ml33h

Review 2 of 6

Summary:
I strongly agree with Charley from CA. I had a Krell KSA 250 which I loved, driving Wilson 5.1 speakers. I traded it for a pair of FPB 250ms with which I've never been happy. On a good day he old amplifier could fool me into thinking the musician was in the room; the new one never managed this.

I've borrowed a pair of FPB 350mcs and have had them for only a short time, but already the illusion is back, and they don't have the rather shrieky quality that the KSA line could have.

Strengths:
Convincingly reproduces the venue's acoustic

Weaknesses:
Size, cost

Similar Products Used:
Krell KSA 250, FPB 250m

Review 3 of 6

Price Paid:  $17000.00

Summary:
Just pulled these out of the box yesterday and they sound outstanding. Had a pair of FPB250Mc's that were underpowering a set of Watt/Puppy 6's (W/P). Before purchasing I tried, for a few days at home, the FPB600M. This was not nearly as detailed as the 250's and created much too much bass response. Also the separation was just crappy. Sounded like one big blobb in the middle of the room. Given the choice, I would have stayed with the 250's. Had not tried the 350's on the W/P6's but did hear them as compared to 250's on a set of Wilson Maxx's. Probably an unfair test given the size difference between the W/P and Maxx's, but decided to go for it when my 250's were purchased out from under me. Apprehensive as I was spending almost 2x on the 350's, right out of the box (truthfully, with about 10 hours of burn in and all warmed up), these were the best sounding amps I've ever heard. With the W/P's I can't say I've ever heard anything so good. They are 100% faster then the 250's and have a clear, crisp sound that one expects from the Krell/Wilson combo. Having said this, they are not too agressive like the old KSA/Wilson W/P 5.1 combo. These amps drive the Wilson's with a subtleness that I would expect to see from a Levinson, but have much more dynamic range. Clearly, I'm a big fan. I can't say I'll ever be so impressed with a new audio product as I have been with the addition of the FPB350Mc's. Try them for yourself and enjoy!

FYI, using Tranparent interconnects and cables (both Ultra) with Wadia CD.

Strengths:
Smooth, detailed, powerful, warm

Weaknesses:
none, if cost is not a big issue

Similar Products Used:
Krell FBP 250Mc, FPB 600M, Levinson 332, 331.

Review 4 of 6

Price Paid:  $16660.00 from Audio Shop

Summary:
My system has been upgraded from Krell FPB600 to FPB350M monoblock. Although the output of FBP600 is almost double that of FPB350M and the character of both amplifiers is similar, the sound has improved significantly in terms of soundstage, richness and quality of the musi etc.etc. The units drive and control the speakers with ease. I can find that it has a wider and deeper soundstage. The image is sharper with clarity and details in high frequency; mid bass is stronger with body and muscle. When I listen to all the albums again, they all sound different. The music and the vocals reproduced by FPB350M seem to have more feeling. As stated in one of the review, the units are highly recommended if you can afford it.

Strengths:
Detail, neutral, natural, powerful and musical with feeling.

Weaknesses:
a bit expensive

Similar Products Used:
Mark levinson 20.6, Krell FPB600
