Review 1 of 2

Price Paid:  $0.00 from alephtec

Summary:
This is the best amp I have ever heard. The emotional immediacy with the music is intense. Incredible speediness and amazing transparency. Also dead quiet, this quality makes a tremondous difference when comparing to other amps ss or tube, its astonishing. The bass is layered. Brass is wonderful, you feel the strings. Instruments are truly 3d. Vocals are mesmorising. Plenty of power. Very romantic smooth seductive sounding amp. This amp replaced the Graaf gm20 amp in my system and has made a huge difference, mostly with overall control and much more detailed. (the gm20 is very good but my speakers needed more power) Cyrus cd + tuner Graaf 13.5b preamp Graaf gm200 Sonus Faber Guarneri's Kimber select 1021 black pearl silver

Strengths:
Musical, transparent, quiet, emotional, intelligent (I agree with previous reviewer "nothing sounds like this otl")

Weaknesses:
keep away from children (8 visible tubes on front + 32 protected tubes on sides) runs hot

This is a Ferrari, nothing is in this league.

Marantz MA-9S2 Power AmplifierThe list above has one tenet that I continue to hold true: high powered amplifiers are necessary to reproduce the full dynamic range of music with most speakers. This became apparent when I changed from the 100 Watt per channel Bella Extreme 100 to the 250 Watt.....

The unit arrived from China well packed and everything seem to be in place. No external abuse by the carriers. The only problem was the power supply it came with. The box came with a cheap step-down converter.
