Review 1 of 4

Price Paid:  $700.00

Summary:
I´ve used some amps. as Audio Reseach, Adcom555MK2,Linn LK100, Dynamic Precision but this is the best. You have all the details, a very tight bass and all in a very natural soundstage. Even if it only 70 watt it has two 650 VA transformers and very fast rectifiers. Mine is the MK2 version but the MK1 sounds as good as the MK2. To find a preamp for DOXA Signature could be a little problem. If you have a preamp with any sounddegradation you hear it. A passive preamp could be a good solution until you find "the right" preamp.
Many owners use Conrad Johnson tube preamps.

Strengths:
Very natural sound. Very tight bass. Natural soundstage.

Weaknesses:
You need a really good preamp.

Review 2 of 4

Summary:
This amp is very, very god. It has a superb, transparant sound with lots of detail. The amp is by my opinion one of the most correct sounding amps you can buy. The MK II is even better!!!
Thank you for your time.

Summary:
I couldn`t agree more with Løkken from Norway. I have NEVER heard the same level of detail and transparency from any other amplifier EVER. After auditioning it I just had to buy one. My biggest problem now is to find a pre-amp that is as good as the Doxa without being much more expensive. At the moment i am using my Wadia CD-player with built-in pre-amp and that`s working great. The Doxa 70 Signature is an unquestionable bargain that deserves to be matched with much more expensive equipment.

Review 4 of 4

Summary:
This power amplifier is only available in Norway and Denmark where is`s an absolute bargain. In almost every comparison in Norwegian magazines it chrushes Electrocompaniets amps despite the fact that the latter is at half the price in Norway compared to other countries. Its a singel-ended solid-state amp with an amazingly transparent and detailed sound that reminds much of Pass Labs most expensive amps. Its only 70 watts, but with a powerful 1,5kVA power supply it drives most loudspeakers. The components are few, but the quality sky high. I give Doxa warm recmandations to every norwegian and dane looking for a high-end amplifier. Just be careful to match it with CD-players, loudspeakers and cables of very high quality since its quite analytical.

In my judgment the advantage of the MG 1.6 (and other Magneplars), stems from the following: = It is a full-range dipole, and = It has uses low-mass, planar drivers for the whole audio spectrum. These attributes account for its extraordinary clarity, coherence, “air”...
