Review NaN of

Price Paid:  $750.00 from used

Summary:
Well, They are Big Black and Beautiful, I currently use them on my CV DC1515, and it is totally insane how loud you can play with these babies!!! the former owner used two nad 216 on the DC1515, it´s not to compare with!!, the 6600a has so much more warmth and better deep bass!! I´m convinced that the audiphiles would like this amp as well, and it has no problem what so ever to run at 1ohm!!

Strengths:
nice looking, great sound, MUCH power, balanced xlr connector, sensitivity control

Weaknesses:
Can´t fit in a normal stereo rack.....

Similar Products Used:
nad 216, nad 218, denon 1560

I bought these 2 amps about 13 years ago in a huge stereo sale they have once a year in South Korea!! I have never had them in the shop and they still sound and look brand new. I will never sell or get rid of these monster amps. I love them!! I have used them even when I got back to the USA and started DJing. Still no problems. They have handled all I can give them and much more.

Strengths:
Great Power!! Can handle the volume on max for hours upon hours with no discrepencies.

Weaknesses:
I havent found any yet!!

Price Paid:  $700.00 from on E-bay

Summary:
I recently bought these on E-bay at the buy it now price of $700.00 and boy am I glad I did. These mono blocks arrived in mint condition and were put to use driving everything I own, from Vandersteen's, B&W's, Legacy Focus, and AR's with a powerful smoothness and a rich mellow midrange that I long for along with a very very powerful deep, tight and detailed bass. They are just wonderful. Another thing that's so amazing is that when your playing at low volumes the sound is still very full and rich. I found that they need to be left on for at least a week and then you should never turn them off unless your going on a vacation. I feel no worries leaving them on because of how there built and the brand name of Denon. I would not recommend using them with tiny bookshelf speaker's as if your not carefull you could damage them. I think very highly of these amps and would part with them ever. If you ever see a pair snap them up especially the POA-6600A's and just give them time to warm up. It' all in the detail's.

Strengths:
Build quality and the very excellent sound.

Weaknesses:
none found yet, but I'm still looking.

Review NaN of , from Peoria,AZ USA

Price Paid:  $800.00 from woodbridge stereo NJ

Summary:
I had my POA6600A's since 1988 and I ONLY use them for my Bass towers.I would never use them as full range. There are much better amps for full range use.I Have a pair of Infinity RS1b's and they are perfect running the bass towers, just as they would be running any other bass column. The person with the Kappa9's should run the speaker in bi-amp with the 6600's on the low end and the threshold on the top. That would be perfect and do those speakers justice.I remember I had looked at a pair of Kappa9's to do just that.In the nick of time a pair of RS1b's came along and the rest is history. For the mid/tweet towers I run a small Conrad Johnson tube amp.I am in the process of upgrading to a set of mono amps to replace the Conrad Johnson. There are many mid priced mono amps that run in Class A (of course)that would be perfect for my setup.

Strengths:
Great for low end biamping only

Weaknesses:
Bad to run full range with speakers

Review NaN of

Price Paid:  $1500.00 from dealer

Summary:
I buyed the Denons to drive my Kappa 9's. The power and the stability at low impedance seemed to be well when you look at the product description.
But what a mistake. Under "normal" conditions, that means you don't force them very hard with the Kappa's, they sound well, with nice midrange, soft highrange but poor bass-quality. But if you want to have a little bit more live feeling, they give it to you, because they start their own fire. It means one of the monoblocks started to smoke from inside. After the repair a few month later it happended again with the repaired one. So there was only one decision. Change it to another amp. This was a very old and used Treshold S 200. Used price was much cheaper then the new Denon's. But this amps drive the Kappa's very well. Only problem is, they heat the room at any time

Strengths:
Big and nice looking

Weaknesses:
Not really able to drive low impedance, and i mean really low.

Similar Products Used:
Denon Integrated amp (forget the name)
different Krells, Tresholds, Electrocompaniet and Forte (does anyone made experience with Forte? I miss a review)
