Review 1 of 1

Price Paid:  $3500.00 from JB audio (ebay)

Summary:
This is a wonderful amplifier. Very sweet without sounding "syrupy". Very detailed. Bass is unbelievable due to a special output transformer. Will drive almost any speaker. The best amplifiers I have heard are: Atma-Sphere, Jadis, and my Cary SLM 200's.

Strengths:
Beautiful tube sound. Detail. Incredible bass. Lots of power, even when wired in triode mode. The amps run cool. The bias is easily set.

Weaknesses:
Only weakness I can find is that these amps are very heavy. (85# times two)

Similar Products Used:
VTL (recommended), Kinergetics class A (recommended), Hafler, Electrocomponiet, Adcom, Atma-Sphere (highly recommended), Jadis (highly recommended).

Magnepan Magneplanar MG 1.6 User Review

In my judgment the advantage of the MG 1.6 (and other Magneplars), stems from the following: = It is a full-range dipole, and = It has uses low-mass, planar drivers for the whole audio spectrum. These attributes account for its extraordinary clarity, coherence, “air”...
