Summary:
I purchased my 2060 about 4 months ago and have been left mind boggled ever since! I had always known how good Boulder was and owned a pair of Boulder 500s and 250s through the ‘90s but had strayed from the brand in ’98. I had been lusting after the 2000 series since the lines debut in ’97 but had a hard time justifying the price so a tried some other options. In ’98 I went with the YBA monos and then switched to the awesome Accuphase A-50 mono pair in 2000. The A-50s were about the best amps that I had heard until 4 months ago. I wanted just a bit more control on the bottom end and a slightly more open midrange so I thought I would finally take the plunge and give the 2060 a shot in my system. As I am local to Boulder, Bruce Van Allen was kind enough to personally deliver my amplifier and left me with some interesting comments on his departure. I had not really listened at this point as I was still trying to get over the amps massive proportions and 250lb weight! When I settled down to listen I was astounded…I knew it would be different BUT NOT THIS DIFFERENT! Every aspect of this amps performance is in a league of its own. Gushing three dimensionality throwing information well out to the side and past me head. Endless extension on the top without any sense of harshness or hint of electronic glare, just as natural as can be. Perfectly presented midrange and a midbass so articulate it will make you squirm. Then there was the bottom end which at first seemed as if the amp leaned it out, this couldn’t be farther from the truth. After listening to several cuts, it was apparent that the amps bass control was so good and presented every low frequency detail with such accuracy that what had seemed to be leaned was just beyond perfect. Perfection that few people have ever heard or will hear! And when a deep not or transient comes along, we are taking dynamics and extension that will frighten you. The bottom line, this amp represents perfection in every form from its amazing musicality to its build quality that is so far away from the nearest competition it sets a new standard. It is expensive but one look at the guts of this next to a Levinson 33, Pass, Edge or big Krell and you know you got your moneys worth for the first time in this hobby! Strengths:
Endless power. Boulder rewrote the book on build qulity. Mind boggling dynamics. Will drive anything.

Weaknesses:
None that I have found! One might argue the price but it was worth every penny to me.
