Review NaN of , from Richmond, Va

Price Paid:  $800.00 from Rolls Music

Summary:
This review is for a BGW8000. I used this amplifier in a pro-audio setup - PA for a band. This amp had the tightest bass of any pro-caliber amp that I've ever used. It was ultra-reliable....easily comparable to Crown in terms of reliability. The funny thing was that it sounded good in a home stereo environment - except for the fan noise. I had Maggie T-1Ds at the time at it sounded great to my surprise.

Strengths:
Tight bass

Weaknesses:
Fan noise

Similar Products Used:
Crown, Crest, Ampzilla

Review NaN of , from Escondido, CA, USA

Price Paid:  $250.00

Summary:
I have three different BGW pro amps, and I honestly forget which model is which (one is a 6000? and one 7500?), but they are all great.

Strengths:
The sound. Very musical. Detailed up top, big power reserve makes for nice, tight bass, great tonal balance. Lots of power. Even the biggest ones (if you unplug the noisy fan - which are AC - careful) are great as hifi amps. Used them in my home recording studio for monitoring as well.

Weaknesses:
One of them gave up the ghost a couple months ago (it is pretty old) probably output transistors. Lots of them to change, unfortunately. They do have a great rep for reliability, though. This one was on 24x7 for years in a home theatre setup before its unfortunate demise.

Similar Products Used:
Crown, Carvin, Altec, Mackie & other pro amps, lots of various storebought, kit, or homebrew hifi amps.
