Review 1 of 4

Price Paid:  $3500.00 from The Audio Lounge

Summary:
Great soundstage especially in the midrange.Strong and impressive bass with all the speed of a quality solid stater.
The 960 plays music with all of its richness that will not fail to please. I have limited room, and have matched the amp with B&W speakers for close listening.
Feed this baby good power and imput cables to really bring out the bass. Ceramic cones are a worthwhile consideration. If you are after a quality tube amp that won't disappoint, this is the one.

Strengths:
Great soundstage, Strong and powerful bass, Good for close listening

Weaknesses:
A trip to the Chiropractor may be needed after lifting it.
Some hum once it has warmed up.

Review 2 of 4

Summary:
This is a tremendous amp for the money. I have KT88's in mine and the bass and dynamics are unbelievable. Best bass I have heard from a tube amp. This amp has a big, bold sound with a palpable and transparent midrange and has a very balanced overall sound. It will benefit greatly from a really good power chord and resonance control. Try Ensemble Tube Sox on the input tubes, and top notch isolation feet. I use a Shatki stone on the main transformer which works very nicely. I'd imagine they'd be great on the output transformers as well. With a little attention, this can be a true superamp at a bargain price.

Strengths:
Bass, dynamics, soundstage, musical involvement

Weaknesses:
More people should be enjoying this amp

Similar Products Used:
Many amps over the last 20 yrs

Review 3 of 4

Summary:
I have to agree with the previous reviewer. What a tremendous find! Aronov is apparently a little heard of manufacturer in Los Angeles, CA with little in terms of industry presence. Let me state that after listening to and now purchasing this amp, it is the single BEST amplifier I have ever heard...bar none!! The 960 is a powerful, well-controlled amplifier with exceptional bass, sweet midrange and treble, and excellent sound-staging. The 960 provides the detail without the sterile dissection so evident in the "higher end" solid state amps. I couldn't be more satified. I would recommend this amplifier to anyone who is interested in listening to music...NOT those who are interested in analyzing recordings!!

Strengths:
Bass (both control and depth), Midrange-high-end sweetness, soundstage

Weaknesses:
MINOR-hum in the transformer

Review 4 of 4

Summary:
Fantastic power amp for the money. Great bass control. Is not whimpy in bass like many other tube amps. Very crisp and detailed in the highs. May not have as warm of midrange as some other tube amps. Very fast and dynamic. Is same amp that is contained in the 9601 integrated. High quality inputs and spkr terminals. Simple, clean, high gloss black box styling. Only complaint is front, top and side pannels ring like a bell. Sounds great though. Power rating seems very conservative.
