Wonderful musicality, bass control, dynamic, brings you life to the artist, great soundstage.

To be true,I don't now. I love this amps!

Review 2 of 4

Summary:
LS-9100 mono blocks are one of the best values in hi end audio. There are better amps out there, but not even close to those babies, as far as price goes. Sure, i would love to own CAT or LAMM monos, but at this point I am perfectly happy with these, regardless of price.

Actully, they proved wrong B&W manufacturers, distributers and dealers, who claim that B&W need to be fed by SS amps. I drive the venerable Silver Signatures with them. I get more bass with LS-9100 then I used to get with hefty 200 WPC ARC D400MK II! And it's a very good SS amp (not talked about much either). The amasing ability of Silver Sigs to sound bigger then they actually are, doubled.

Couple of things:

I agree with other reviewers, they need top quality feet and power cords. i just bought Combak Harmonix RU-210ZX Tuning feet and it made them sound incredible.

Also, I replaced stock 6550s with KT-90. The must have upgrede.

I highly recommend this amps to anybody who wants powerful tube amps without braking there wallets.

Strengths:
Extremely musical, powerful, open and wide soundstage, not colored, solid state like bass extention and slam

Weaknesses:
very sensitive to RF noise

Summary:
I've owned these amps for over a year now and I feel they are one of the best sounding tube amps I've heard. They are very musical sounding with great mids and highs but also plenty of bass slam when needed. I'm not going to say they are the best in the world since how many of us has really heard that many amps to make a statement like that. They are literally built like a Russian tank out of 11 ga. steel and finished in a gloss black with a gold Aronov nameplate that's circled by a green light when turned on, pretty cool!! (Check them out at www.aronovaudio.com.) They have the lifeblood of a tubeamp and the punch of a solid-state.
Yakov Aronov has been building amps since the 50's and really knows his stuff. His son Michael runs the marketing and tech areas and both are always willing to help you out. Try talking directly to the top dogs at Krell and Levinson. They don't get a lot of publicity(although they are now advertising in Stereophile, but the ads don't do their products justice)because they don't submit their products the mags for reviews. A bad review could put a small company out of business. Many high-end dealers don't promote their products because the profit margins aren't as big as with the big names and customers prefer the Aronov's when they hear them over the C-J's, VTL's etc.
They produce a "conservative" 110 wpc although it seems like twice that with the octet of Svetlana 6550C's they use. I just replaced the 6550C's with new J.J. Electronic (Tesla) KT-88's and they are even better. More power (120 wpc) and better dynamics and the vocals are stunning and they were great to begin with! The 6550C's are like a Corvette, but the KT-88's make them like a Ferrari. Tung-sol's are great also, but the current price of $100/tube is ridiculous and going higher. The new KT-88's will give you 90% of the Tung-sol's performance at one third the cost. One thing to be careful of is the small driver tube each amp needs the 6AN8A. These tubes are no longer made and the amp's circuit will not operate without them and there are no substitute tubes that work.
Aronov Audio bought the remaining world's supply according to Michael Aronov, but they are asking $25 ea. You can find good NOS ones that go from $10-$15 ea (still too high for me). I found some great RCA's at Advantage Tube Services - Ken Chait - 1-800-273-7234 for $5.50 ea!
Although these amps aren't inexpensive ($4700/pr.new)they are still worth it, since you'll think they cost $7K-$10K after you audition them. I bought mine locally used in mint condition for $2250, which qualifies as a steal. I've recently seen them on the internet for $2300-$2600. Grab them, you'll love them even if you've never heard them. I'm currently driving Aerial 10 T's with no problem and they usually like high current solid state stuff.
