Review 1 of 1

Price Paid:  $0.00 from Norway

Summary:
Heavy high-end 5-channel power-amp that really makes a difference compared to a receiver or integrated amp! It is smooth and powerful whith all the dynamics and details you could ever want. At the same time it is not sharp sounding, meaning that you will not have problems with hissing sibilants. Be aware that it will not be very forgiving with bad matching cables. I used to connect it through Nordost Red Dawn interlinks. When I changed to the Black Magic cables of PM Audio, it was as if I had changed amp! The change in sound was simply incredible! What had been a good sounding amp was suddenly a warm, analogue-sounding high-end wonder!

Strengths:
High-end sound. Good quality.

Weaknesses:
Speaker connectors only allow spades, and not of every dimension.

Magnepan Magneplanar MG 1.6 User Review

In my judgment the advantage of the MG 1.6 (and other Magneplars), stems from the following: = It is a full-range dipole, and = It has uses low-mass, planar drivers for the whole audio spectrum. These attributes account for its extraordinary clarity, coherence, “air”...
