Price Paid:  $320.00 from Second Hand

Summary:
I bought this Amp on the second hand market. It is matched with a pre-amp Denon pra-1500 which I bought on the second hand market as well. Worth every $ I paid for it. It is in a mint condition, so paying only 1/3 then it cost as new (Israel having allot of tax) Made it a great bang for the buck. Sounds very natural, Like NAD amplifiers sounds like. not too bright, not too warm. Somewhere in the middle. I Couldn't any better second hand market amplifier that over match this one at the same money value or even higher. Built quality is impressive, heavily built, large torodial power supply, and lasge capacitors. Seems like AMC is trying to get into the big guys market, only now, when they are not considered a HI-named company, they sell for cheap some very good products. I highly recommend to give it a listen before you choose other brands. Keep away from Rotel amps, they sound horrible, and couldn't match this one although they are pricier. I tried the Rotel RB991, for twice the price and felt like the Rotel isn't even half the way near the AMC. The Rotel was super bright -> sounding like "metal sound". Mid frequencies where congested in the Rotel, and bass was only seeming to appear only where the lowest frequency is. No air, no mid band at all with the Rotel. All the opposite was the AMC! If you know how NAD sounds like, AMC is almost the same. Give it a try, you want be disappointed.

Strengths:
price, value, sounds great, superb for clasical music and jazz.

Weaknesses:
non that i see for that brice range.

Denon Rotel

Review 2 of 3

Summary:
I BOUGHT THIS AMP FOR $400, AN OUTSTANDING VALUE. BUILD QUALITY IS QUITE GOOD, AND THE DETACHABLE POWER CORD IS A NICE FEATURE. THE POWER SUPPLY IS MASSIVE FOR SUCH A REASONABLY PRICED AMP. THE SOUND IS SMOOTH, DETAILED,AND ACCENTUATES A NICE SOUNDSTAGE. ITS NO PROCEED, BUT YOU WILL BE PLEASED. I USE A DENON 3200 AS A PRE-AMP, AND FOR THE REAR CHANNEL AMPLICATION. THIS AMP REALLY BOOSTED THE OVERALL DYNAMICS OF MY SYSTEM. I SUGGEST TO ANYONE LOOKING TO UPGRADE THEIR RECIEVERS AMPLIFIERS, YOU WONT BE DISSAPOINTED ADDING THIS AMP TO THE CHAIN. MY INSENSITIVE NHT SUPERONES REALLY CAME ALIVE! 5 STARS EXCELLENT VALUE

Review 3 of 3

Summary:
I purchased this amp about three months ago, trading an old Hafler DH-110. It is paired with an NAD 114 preamp.I bought the amp because it has separate power supplies (and toroid tranformers) for each channel,
and puts out 150W per channel with no more than .03% THD. It sounded bright at first with my Tannoy Mercury M1 speakers,
but it has settled down and sounds smoother, yet detailed. It will probably be a good match for Vandersteen speakers,
to which I may upgrade when I have more space. This amp also features a detachable power cord, and I have just ordered a LAT
Power Cord for it.

In my judgment the advantage of the MG 1.6 (and other Magneplars), stems from the following: = It is a full-range dipole, and = It has uses low-mass, planar drivers for the whole audio spectrum. These attributes account for its extraordinary clarity, coherence, “air”...
