Review 1 of 2

Price Paid:  $500.00 from On-line Yahoo Stores

Summary:
This is an excellent 5 channel amplifier for the price. Very hard to beat, 100 watts of clean power delivered to your speakers. It has in/out connectors, which make it a wonderful amp for bi-amplification (which is what I am using if for - powering three front channels of my home theater where the L/R speakers are bi-amped). Very stable power, deep bass, clean highs, and detailed midrange, what more can you ask for. Used to power my NHT ST4's and center SB3.

Strengths:
Incredible power for the price. Great build quality. Clean power.

Weaknesses:
At the price, none. Very few options, but what more can you ask for from an amplifier.

Denon, Adcom, Parasound.

Review 2 of 2

Summary:
At 100 wpc the five channel capability is perfect for surround or even center duty since gobs of bass are not required for these channels. It's a solid state unit with few features but the sound makes up for it. Look elsewhere if you like the artificial "warmth" sound. This amp is clean and neutral. Leave it on all the time as I do to tame any shrill highs you might get from your speakers. I am very happy with this unit. I have a Lexicon processor and ribbon main speakers. This unit easily handles all the surround duties driving OHM (sides) and Infinity (rears). The system overall sounds great.

Strengths:
Plenty powerful and dynamic for surround duty or mains if speakers are efficient

Weaknesses:
At this price (around $400.) there are few features but sound is what counts

Marantz MA-9S2 Power AmplifierThe list above has one tenet that I continue to hold true: high powered amplifiers are necessary to reproduce the full dynamic range of music with most speakers. This became apparent when I changed from the 100 Watt per channel Bella Extreme 100 to the 250 Watt.....

The unit arrived from China well packed and everything seem to be in place. No external abuse by the carriers. The only problem was the power supply it came with. The box came with a cheap step-down converter.
