Summary:
Very sweet and warm sounding like tube amps but with very good dynamics and mid bass. Looks beautiful. This is simply the best amp for the money. Highly recommend

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:
This is an amazing 5 ch amplifier. 200watts x5 THe acurus adds a rich warmth to my sound now. It keeps detail, Similar like classe 200 and bat vk 200 The nids are what really make this amp my new found favorite. Great enveloping sound, smooth highs, astounding lows, runs cool to the touch. Superb build quality with good looks and lots of power Overall design beautifully crafted

Review 3 of 6

Price Paid:  $900.00 from Ubid

Summary:
I've used monoblocks, NAD, Rotel, and the latest Kenwood receiver. All pale in comparison to the 200x5 and Acurus Act3 preamp, for both music and theater.
Get this combination while they are still available. Excellent service from Adam at Mondial website. I would not worry at all about the fact that Mondial got purchased by Klipsch. The Acurus is truly a high-quality line at reasonable price. You can spend a lot more and get better sound, for me, this is the optimal price-quality point.
Speakers: Tannoy. IC: AQ Coral, MIT. Speaker Cables: MIT

Strengths:
Best one I had at this price

Weaknesses:
None

Similar Products Used:
Kenwood, Rotel, NAD, Marantz

Review 4 of 6

Price Paid:  $985.00 from UBID

Summary:
This is a great sounding five channel amp. I purchased this unit along with the Acurus ACT-3 on clearance. Wow! What a bargain this turned out to be. The Acurus duo replaces my Yamaha DSP-3090 (previous Yamaha flagship) This amp delivers effortless sound with sweet airy highs that have defined, accurate detail. Simply put it adds depth and a spacious sound that I did not have with the integrated Yamaha. I have bi-amped my mains with the Bryston 4B-ST pushing the low end and the Acurus pushing the upper end, for an unbelievable sound. I tried many configurations, but this one was the the best by far. One thing that I have noticed, is how well the amp controls the low end (almost as well as the Bryston, but not quite...the 4B rules that domain). Anyway, the looks and build quality are astounding. The A200FIVE has a silver aluminum finish around the name plate, unlike its other Acurus siblings. The A200FIVE will get my vote, when compared to anything in it's price range, even if you had to pay the MSRP of $2K. But the beauty is you don't, because they are being cleared at half price. With that said, nothing that I auditioned comes close to this performance/value winner!

Strengths:
Great enveloping sound, smooth highs, astounding lows, runs cool to the touch. Superb build quality with good looks and lots of power (200W x 5).

Weaknesses:
None, other than the acurus line was discontinued by Klipsch, however this is not a knock on the A200FIVE

Similar Products Used:
Bryston, Carver, Sunfire, and Yamaha

Review 5 of 6

Price Paid:  $925.00 from UBID

Summary:
The A200x5 does not disappoint with either movies or music. My theater includes a H & K Signature 2.0, Acrus A200x5 and NHT VT-2 speakers. The A200x5 provides a coherent and enveloping sound field, placing me right in the middle of the sound and action. The panning and spatial cues are all taken care of well. You can clearly hear effects move from right to left, as well as front to back, as if there were many more speakers in the system then the primary five with the accompanying sub.

Watching Janet Jackson Velvet Rope DVD also proved to be quite rewarding. When I put the disc in, I had no intention of watching the whole thing, but the A200x5 truly captured my attention. During the bass heavy tracks, in which a level bass comes from all channels, the A200x5 really delivers. The Velvet Rope tour dvd provides some complex sound passages that were handled distinctly, without the audible congestion you'll hear from a lesser (but in this case possibly more expensive) five-channel power amp.
