Bottom Line: This is an amazing amplifier. I "downgraded" my system from a Krell 300i to this. WHile the Krell exceeds the Acurus (B&K PT-3 Preamp) in almost everything, it is not by all that much. THe acurus adds a rich warmth to my sound now. It keeps detail, though it rounds off somewhat in the upper frequencies. The nids are what really make this amp my new found favorite. Surprisingly, the amp has now become discontinued, being the only real drawback to investing in something like this.

Bottom Line: My only reference point is a Rotel RB-1070 wich is on the same price range.
I demo both units from a dealer and found the A100 to deliver the bass segment with a little more "attitude", without being boomy or muddy. Definitively superior in live recordings. The mid and hi end of the spectrum are very crisp and clear, deliverd with the same wit as the lower end. I am very happy with its performance and build quality.
System:
Acurus ACD-11 CD player
Acurus RL-11 Preamplifier
Acurus A100 Amplifier
B&W DM 601's S2 Bookshelf Speakers
Velodyne CT-80 Powered Subwoofer
Tara Labs Prism 22 and Prism 2 Interconets
Tara Labs Prism 2+2 Biwire Cables

Bottom Line: I was not expecting much performance at such a low price but this amp is a steal.
I have more expensive amps like Aragon and Musical Fidelity, the Acurus A100 pumps out 80% of performance at 20% price.
Mondial amps (Acurus and Aragon) have different characteristics from British amps such as Musical Fidelity, you can have choices according to your taste, but it's really hard to find any shortcoming of ANY Mondial amps, those guys know how to make amps!

Bottom Line: I bought this amp mainly for its price , a demo unit actually. Nice amp with good bass and musicality. It's probably not the best ever amp but a very good to consider.

Bottom Line: I was not expecting this amp to be very powerful since it only weighs 19lbs., I was proven wrong. This amp is quite a performer, it is smooth, musical, and powerful. I would highly recommend it.
