Review 1 of 2

Price Paid:  $0.00 from second hand

Summary:
Nice to see that there is a review here of this highly regarded amp.
Used it for a very long time, and is still in my posession.
Powered up a lot of speaker systems over the years, with confidence.
Never had problems driving what kind of speakers.
Now,it can use some revision, very normal after a 27 years of labor.
Still it sounds great, but is outclassed by my croft tube poweramp, wich is more natural and lifelike in sound.
The p-250 can give you still great soundfield and depth, better than some newer other brands I have tried over the years.
Relaxed sound, and a bit softer than modern transistor design.
It gave me a lot of pleasure over the past 14 years,in wich I used it daily.
I still use the c-200 once in a while, connected with my tube amp, wich still sounds fantastic.
The c-200 pre is still high standard, and a bit more transparant than the p-250.
I keep both units permanently, just because it,s a fantastic combination of quality and sound,30 years old craftmanship.

Strengths:
Reliable(these pieces are from 1980,and are still deadquiet,no kracking and things)
Vintage looks
buildquality is very high,so is the weight..
Totally stressfree soundquality
no problem driving dificult loads

Weaknesses:
poweramp a little bit on the warm/soft side of neutral, but just a little...

Review 2 of 2

Price Paid:  $400.00 from aafes

Summary:
I don't think it was available in the US but was available through the PX (Army) back in the 70's. It was a very nice bit of equipment far ahead of it's Japanese cousins of the time. Nice sound, sharp transients not a lot of headroom. Outclassed by my GAS Son Of Ampzilla. No matter. It was stolen back in 1978. I do miss it though.

Strengths:
Construction and asthetics.

Weaknesses:
Headroom

Marantz MA-9S2 Power AmplifierThe list above has one tenet that I continue to hold true: high powered amplifiers are necessary to reproduce the full dynamic range of music with most speakers. This became apparent when I changed from the 100 Watt per channel Bella Extreme 100 to the 250 Watt.....

Aune Mini Headphone DAC User Review

The unit arrived from China well packed and everything seem to be in place. No external abuse by the carriers. The only problem was the power supply it came with. The box came with a cheap step-down converter.
