Bottom Line:
Dynamic, endless reserves for dynamic swing. Directly compared to an SET at low/normal volumes (speakers are 94 dB efficient) and this amp has that air and magic. Maybe only 90% of SET but the bass, speed and dynamic presence/gravitas are incredible. Rounded edges with vocals having body and substance. I've owned Krell (20K models), Goldmund (15K). This is right up there. Warmer, more alive than Krell (bass champ); more vivid with better slam than Goldmund (almost the perfect amp).

Bottom Line:
I was using a pair of Levinson 27.5 amps to biamp a pair of Martin Logan Prodigy's quite satisfactorily. I must admit that I purchased the pair of A50's out of pure lust for their gorgeous build quality and sonic reputation.

I really didn't expect them to be dramatically different. Was I ever wrong. A BAT enthusiest and owner friend was quite impressed in a simple A/B comparison. I too was amazed by the exciting dynamic sound. I was not disappointed when they were finally placed into service. While the Levinson's were very good they were definitely boring in comparison.

They really are hard to justify at $15K each. I think they would be a good deal at $7500 each considering the beautiful level of finish and build quality. But this often happens with imported vs domestic gear. But, Hey! If you can afford it I think they're hard to beat.

Bottom Line:
I own the Accuphase DP-75,but have listened
to the Accuphase 50 extensively in my system and others quite often with and without the DG-75 (another sonically awesome and battleship built piece of equipment).

Accuphase gear is without a doubt one of
the best made audio lines in the world. I
have listened to FM Acoustics, but not as
extensively as the Accuphase gear. Clearly
the FM Acoustics equipment is at the top
also. At this level of audio quality, I
believe the choice of which is better is a
matter of opinion based on what aspects of
the reproduction the intended user is most
satisfied with. There is no "better" component at this level of build quality and reproduction of music.

Ten stars out of five for the Accuphase
gear. Oh and by the way,

Alpha,

What are you smoking or did you get a bad
batch of LSD? Digital loudspeakers?
Meridian gear? (DCS gear blows away the
Meridian crap). Please see a shrink before
your delusions and auditory hallucinations
get worse.

Bottom Line:
I am maybe not an audiophile like Alfa, but the new accuphase I bought about 2.5 months ago is clearly a great amp. As an amp is one of the critical parts of any hifi system (especially when driving difficult to drive speakers)I cannot recommend a better amp than the new Accuphase A-50V. And if Alfa believes it is a horrible deal, why did he buy it in the first place. If my information is correct, you have to be an owner in order to be allowed to review a product.
A clear 5 rating.

Bottom Line:
There is no better amps built in the world so far than Accuphase. The only two ones coming closer are Mark levinson and FM Acoustics.
The kind of amplification and Meridian active speakers the "Audiophile" is talking about are sure very much sophisticated system which is sounding worse than twice as much cheaper DYNAUDIO pasive dynamic speakers driven by $1500 amp.
If there were 10 stars for rating Accuphase amps I'd give it 20.
THE BEST IN THE WORLD.
