Review 1 of 36

Price Paid:  $700.00 from Tweeter

Summary:
I am back after using this receiver for 2 years. If you are using the 6ch input for sacd and you want to play a stereo CD on the same source, you will get no LF signals out! If you want to switch between 6 channel sacd to cd, you have rewire to get LF signals (unless you have large mains - then you can redirect). This is a bad slip up considering its yamaha.

Strengths:
Overall solid build. Has served me well for audio. back panel has ample connections.

Weaknesses:
6ch input goof-up has rendered it useless. Pre-set crossover. Slightly on the brighter side.

Review 2 of 36

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:
Ok product, cannot compare to some of the high end onkyo's that i have listened to. sound is average and somewhat unrealistic. This receiver has many inputs that come in handy for multiple connections

Strengths:
Many inputs

Weaknesses:
Style is not there... its just too plain looking. Sound is not realistic.

Onkyo TX NR901.... far superior receiver

Review 3 of 36

Price Paid:  $500.00 from Now Audio Video

Summary:
Great receiver...everything I could hope for at the $500 price tag. For the record, a previous poster mentioned that there were no coaxial digital inputs for a DVD player. This is not correct - all of the coax digital inputs are assignable. You can go through menu setup process and assign them to anything you want. I have the receiver paired with the JBL Northridge Series speakers (towers in front, N26s in back) and movies sound absolutely amazing. I don't have a sub yet, and to be honest, I'm not sure I even need one. Highly recommend.

Strengths:
Power, Build Quality

Review 5 of 36

Price Paid:  $475.00 from etronics.com

Summary:
The Yamaha RX-V1300 was the best reciever of the bunch (sony, denon, onkyo, ect.) for under $1000. The features, build quality, and sound are far supperior to anything other brands are offering. I use this thing for everything-mp3's, dvd's, xbox (splinter cell in Dolby Digital is incredible!), and college football (in church mode it sounds like you are actually in the stadium, as the anouncers echo). Anyone with some brains and some bucks should at least listen to this reciever because it will blow the competition away.

Strengths:
-Sound -Construction (TopArt) -Versitility -Features

Weaknesses:
-Manual

Similar Products Used:
Sony, Denon, Onkyo, Universal Audio preamps
