Yamaha HTR-6090 7.1 Channels Receiver A/V Receivers

DESCRIPTION

Make an investment in your surround sound home theater set-up that you'll enjoy for years with the Yamaha HTR-6090BL 7.1-channel receiver with 840 watts (120 watts x 7) of total amplification. The receiver is built around Yamaha's digital ToP-ART (Total Purity Audio Reproduction Technology) design concept, which maximizes digital signal quality and minimizes analog circuitry to ensure the best possible sound. ToP-ART receivers include such defining attributes as ultra-high-current amplification, high-performance 192 kHz/24-bit digital-to-analog converters, an upgraded Pure Direct listening mode that provides terrific signal purity, and an impressively wide frequency range of 10 Hz to 100 kHz that helps digital audio sources like DVD-Audio and Super Audio CD reach their full potential.

Strength:

1080p HDMI inputs. Upconversion to HDMI. Multi zones. PCM and Dolby True HD playback for High Def. DVD players. The ability to add presence speakers. The ability to customize input names. OSD is viewable with HDMI. OSD (on screen display) is a huge strength period...

Weakness:

Cannot use presence speakers and rear surround speakers at the same time, must choose between the two. Bulky, and heavy. Runs fairly hot compared to similar brands and models. Remote is not backlit and can be dificult to use right out of the box. OSD can be confusing and takes a little bit to learn what all the options will do for you.

This receiver is outstanding! With the ability to have HDMI inputs from Blu-Ray and HD DVD is also a plus. It supports both uncompressed PCM and Dolby True HD. Also a big plus is the ability to pass through 1080p signals. I would reccomend this receiver to anyone that is willing to spend the money! WOOOOOOOO!
