Review 2 of 2

Price Paid:  $470.00 from Etronics

Summary:
Based on my research the best receiver per dollar on the market.

Strengths:
Loaded with processors, surround environment processors, and connections. Powerful. Good sound. Ability to have up to 9 speakers on the amp - GREAT for those who like to have reference speakers. I'm using Zone 2 for my dining room, and Zone 3 for the backyard with a separate amp. System allows for separate source to Zones.

Weaknesses:
Manual could benefit from an index. However, I find going to the Yamaha site and pulling up the manual to be best because you can search out any word. Manual could also benefit from a rewrite for more information and clarity. Zone 2 and Zone 3 lights come on indicating power to the Zones, when in fact I have neither speakers nor power to the Zones. Pressing "Pure Direct" (the unprocessed setting for the highest fidelity sound - though flat) seems to turnoff those lights which stay off when I switch back to one of the processed sound formats. This reoccurs often. Had the same problem with the headphones light coming on, but it has not reoccured.

Marantz MA-9S2 Reference Series Power Amplifiers Review

Marantz MA-9S2 Power AmplifierThe list above has one tenet that I continue to hold true: high powered amplifiers are necessary to reproduce the full dynamic range of music with most speakers. This became apparent when I changed from the 100 Watt per channel Bella Extreme 100 to the 250 Watt.....

A new driver from Lowther is real news. A new five inch driver is even rarer news, so it was with great anticipation that I waited on this pair of speakers to arrive.

Aune Mini Headphone DAC User Review

The unit arrived from China well packed and everything seem to be in place. No external abuse by the carriers. The only problem was the power supply it came with. The box came with a cheap step-down converter.
