Description: The HTR-5230 is a 5-channel receiver providing Dolby Digital 5.1 - channel surround decoding, and Yamaha's Digital Sound Field Processing, and Yamaha's Tri-Field Processing and Cinema DSP surround technologies. The HTR-5230 can easily accept the decoded output from any 5.1 channel surround system, whether it's DTS, MPEG-2, DVD Audio, or a system not yet developed. Discrete power transistors rather than IC chips are used in the amplifier section to provide the cleanest sound possible. The amp delivers 60 watts to each of the five channels. Yamaha's YSS-908 chip provides Dolby Digital and Pro Logic with full channel separation and no front-to-back bleed through in addition to Music and Cinema DSP and Tri-Field Processing. Yamaha's exclusive Digital Sound Field Processing for music recreates the acoustic personalities of actual concert halls and other venues.
