Price Paid:  $135.00 from Best Buy

Summary:
After owning some RCA 12" 3-way floor speakers, I decided that I needed some more power to run them. I went to best buy and wasn't too picky. I just wanted stereo out and a decent amount of power, which this had. I didn't take the time to look at the frequency response, but oh well, it did the job.
I took it home and hooked all four of my speakers up. The Sony has A and B speaker hook ups, which was perfect. The power output claimed 100 watts X 2 RMS at 8 ohms. When all four speakers were hooked up and I had the volume to a level right before the woofers bottom out, the lights would dim when the bass hit. I was impressed, but really hadnt heard much to compare it too.
Sound quality was probably about a 4 out of 5, and I liked the fact that you can control the bass, treble, balance, and radio station with the remote. The 4 inputs allowed me to hook up my turntable without distortion due to the higher input voltage than my Onkyo. It also didnt get too hot.
If you are looking for a good, reliable 2 channel receiver with adequet power under 150 dollars, buy this. If you want high current, good frequency reponse (not 40hz-20Khz) and lower THD, I would recommend investing a little more.

Strengths:
Ease of use, reliabilty, adequate power, sound quality, easy remote control.

Weaknesses:
Frequency repsonse isn't low enough for certain movies or rap, not really enough power for bigger speakers.

Similar Products Used:
Onkyo TX-8211, many AIWA component systems.
