i have had many recievers before the sony 7100es yamaha being my favorite.after setting up the sony and powering it up i have enjoyed this unit to the fullest and have explored every part of this unit to find things that are not right. guess what everything about this unit is perfect. sound is very accurate in all phases. as a past audio engineer i must say the word wow for sony engineers.i do not think i will have upgrade for awhile. i am using definitive technology speakers in my set up and the 7100 drives these speakers to new dimentions. subwoofer output is powerful and so is the center channel output. go out and buy one it will amaze you. Strengths:
plenty of headroom loudest so far -23 and for this unit that is loud
transparent sound
high quality for a digital amplifier
decoders are very accurate
sharc processors are used again in this unit
low heat generation and no thermal modulation
suppresses sub when turning on power so sub thump
takes you to new heights in sound quality
sonys five year warranty best in the business
