Summary:
Bought a Samsung DVD 807 so just had to get into digital audio. Got for £99.99 (USD160) from Richer Sounds with 3 year warranty (and buy back of £50) for £10.

No explicit DVD input, but easy to use CD for the purpose.

Far better sound than my 10 year old Sansui amp & tuner which cost 2.5 times the price! However only 35W and used up too soon.

Clear manual. Simple and smallish remote that works effectively (although being a fairly generic remote for various Sherwood products it had quite a lot of redundant buttons).

Currently at just £80 (USD130) in Richer Sounds sale.

Now upgrading to a Yamaha RX-V795a for that full digital+ effect(s), but no regrets whatsoever about the 4080R.

Strengths:
Dolby Pro Logic for very low cost

Weaknesses:
Looks relatively cheap

Similar Products Used:
None - my entry to Dolby Pro Logic

Magnepan Magneplanar MG 1.6 User Review

In my judgment the advantage of the MG 1.6 (and other Magneplars), stems from the following: = It is a full-range dipole, and = It has uses low-mass, planar drivers for the whole audio spectrum. These attributes account for its extraordinary clarity, coherence, “air”...
