Price Paid:  $300.00 from 6ave.com

Summary:
This was the first receiver I had ever purchased. There are so many choices with every brand & model having it's pros and cons. This is a perfect entry to mid-level receiver for anyone who wants a feature rich receiver without busting your wallet for something like an H/K.

The thing literally takes 2 minutes to setup the speakers thanks to the MCACC. I would spend the extra few dollars and invest in banana plugs, it makes it a lot easier to hook up the speakers.

Once hooked up you can control the crossover for the sub by choosing 100, 150, or 200 Hz. Also, you can set the speakers to Large or Small and control the crossover for the rest of your speakers that way.

Another cool thing is you can hook up 2 back surrounds and have them act as a single back surround. So you can fill in the back audio by adding more speakers thus giving you a better experience.

Strengths:
Very easy to setup
Can power a passive sub in a 5.1 setup
Plenty of power for a small to medium size room
Attractive design
Learning remote
Easy to operate

Weaknesses:
No OSD
At 40Mhz, might not be good enough for HD signals
Blue led is cool but can be distracting
