from Richer Sounds Summary: This is an excellent machine, given that the small size has to introduce some compromises. Power is not bad; it's an "honest" 30 watts per channel, and as is likely to be used in a confined space, that is plenty for most purposes.
The machine has clean slimline looks, a clear unobtrusive display, and an excellent build quality.
The sound quality is quite good, and comparable to similarly priced machines that aren't so tiny. There are a sufficiency of sound modes, and Dilby Digital, DTS and Prologic.
The remoteis multi-enabled, and controls most leading makes with no problems.
There is limited connectivity at the rear (optical digotal in X3, no coaxial digital, 3(4) analogue in.
The cooling fan on my machine VERY rarely cuts in, despite loud use, and anywayit is quiet.
Enjoyed using this so much, that I've bought a VSX-C100 (the newer model) for my Lab office. Strengths: Tiny size, stylish looks, build quality.
Multi-remote compatability
Sound quality is exceptionally good considering diminutive size.
Unique (ish.... um.... sorry pedants). Weaknesses: I suppose the fact that it is only 30 watts - but if you want 100 watts for a large pad, you'd be looking elsewhere Similar Products Used: Pioneer VSX-C100, Pioneer VSX-D2011, Yamaha RXV396
