from Marantz SR-4200 Summary:
Please see above weaknesses. I am not impressed with this unit. Although construction is impressive as well as a aesthetics, the sound eminating from the speakers (hihend klipsch) is too warm, even bland. I have auditioned numerous music selections and the verdict is the same. Switching from one source to another (analog to digital) is delayed. The volume control is not sensitive enough.
My previous receiver: NAD 710 was deliciously musical and half the price with no bells and whistles. My father's cheapo Pioneer is quite wonderful, half the price, and 10x more musical than this ovedesigned and over rated piece of junk.
Never will I purchase another unit from Marantz again.
