Review NaN of , from Zagreb, Croatia

Price Paid:  $300.00

Summary:
The only weakness is a little bit unfunctional remote control otherwise a really good A/V reciever, and for the money I've payed for it, I couldn't have anything better!!!
It's easy to connect everything, it's easy to enjoy it, and it's really easy to hate, it if you're a neighbour of someone who has it!!! The sound is impressive (of course with right speakers, and right source!)

Strengths:
Lots of inputs, GREAT bass even without subwoofer, excellent performance.

Weaknesses:
Remote is really slow, and a little bit unfunctional, but not really bad. (It looks great!)

Similar Products Used:
Sony DB940 (not even close to Kenwood in my opinion)

Review NaN of , from Melbourne, Australia

Price Paid:  $400.00 from JB HiFi Brighton

Summary:
Returned POS Pioneer VSXD608, and went with the Kenwood A/V receiver to pair with my DVD player. It was a toss-up between a Sony DB940, and a Dennon 1601, but the Kenwood got my thumbs up.

The unit is damn heavy...

Setup was quick and painless. Although the gaps between the binding posts are a little tooooo close for my clumbsy fingers.

Inputs are plentiful and well labelled. The instruction booklet that comes with the unit is quite good too. Actually leads you through setting the unit up etc.. in plain english!

Sound is excellent, output to an old Rotel 870 poweramp for the lfe is amazing. The BASS is actually huge, I've had to go from having +8dB on the Pioneer VSXD608, to going to +1dB on the Kenwood amp.

So far I've run the amp at +16dB and all is well.. my ears may have hurt and the neighbours might have called to complain but the unit didn't even get really hot when running it like this for over 3 hours in the cabnet it's located in.

Strengths:
Solid BASS output.

Weaknesses:
Remote control is slow, not as good as a normal buttoned remote control.

Similar Products Used:
Pioneer VSXD608 (POS! This unit popped, and had 3 replacment power supplies. In it's 3 month life with me.)
