Summary:
The KR-V5080 is a really nice receiver for someone like me who just listens music, surround sound is nice for DVD-watching and computer-gaming, i bought one severeal years ago and had nothing to complain about since. If you can get one at ebay buy it, that's all i can say.

Strengths:
Many connectors nice looking case motor-driven volume two power-plugs very stable

Weaknesses:
the switching noise is a bit loud but you can hear that it ist working ;)

Review NaN of , from Sheffield, United Kindom

Price Paid:  $100.00 from EBAY

Summary:
This AV reciever has got punch for a low spec system! Good bass, and treble and the Pro-Logic does the job for any setup. It may not have the DTS or any Digital inputs, but for an older unit, the Kenwood Kr-V5080 is a great buy for any user who has a tight budget. I bought mine used from the Ebay site in the UK.

It has plenty of inputs for CD, Tape x2, 2 video inputs for both audio and visual, and a RDS reciever, motorised volume, seperate bass and treble controls. The unit is also well built and looks rather good. If you find one used, buy it, it may not be the the best money can buy, but it will satisfy most people, who dont expect it to sound like a £5000 system!!

Summary:
For the money that was spent on it, it does the job. Decent Pro-logic decoding.Good for a small room or bedroom. Only minuses are the power drop of when switching from Stereo to surround. Best used with efficient speakers or a powered sub. Also surround channels need efficient speakers because of low watts.
