Price Paid:  $250.00 from Circuit City

Summary:
I've tried many receivers before settling on this one. The HK 3370 rocks! It's the best stereo receiver for the price and the sound and power are adequate for many years of enjoyment. This is perfect if you love music. Get a pair of nice speakers for full enjoyment - I use the B&W DM 302. I even hooked up a velodyne ct80 subwoofer and am using it for fun as a home theatre receiver with surprising results -- it even sounds better than the surround sound receivers at this price range! I purchased a JVC 6008 dolby digital surround receiver previously but returned it because it would not power my center channel speaker adequately (B&W CC 6) therefore it doesn't even compare to the HK 3370. I'll wait to save some money to get an HK digital surround receiver. In the meantime, I love this unit!

Strengths:
Power, Ease of Use, Flexibility to be used as a home theatre system (stereo only - but it rocks!), music is perfect, and neat appearance.

Weaknesses:
None at all! For the price - this is perfect way beyond my expectations.

Magnepan Magneplanar MG 1.6 User Review

In my judgment the advantage of the MG 1.6 (and other Magneplars), stems from the following: = It is a full-range dipole, and = It has uses low-mass, planar drivers for the whole audio spectrum. These attributes account for its extraordinary clarity, coherence, “air”...
