Summary:
to began with forgive my inglish writing

I have this reveiver for about 8years connected to kef reference 103/4 with monster cable, it works perfect and easy and sound like a charm
The player is a newer 1920 model of denon

Positive points: high power my kef speakers must have 120watts/p/channel but this receiver can pull tham trough, with vocal music it is as open as a amplefieler 5times its price and the connections at the rear are enough for normal use, but the lack of an extra optical gave me some difficulty with my cable receiver but problem solved with the extra digitall connection.
My speakers are known for the beatiful high tones, but the 1700 needs a little more treble than neutral, if i can go back in time i would buy it again, still in love with the sound and the appearence, and after8years with all the new technoligies its still very useable en connectable

Negative: subwoofer preout gives a very little output but a good interlink will solve your problem, missing of a extra optical, no preout for the rear channels, the remote control is now a bit fed up with the daily use off the volume control, and last but not least with ( like me) big loudspeakers it can be hot in the enclosure i mean you could fry ann egg on top of the receiver after 2 hours music at higher volume

Strengths:
Vocal sounds
output power
durable
connectablillty
appearance timeless design
easy to use
RDS works perfect on cable, very good quality radio reception

Weaknesses:
little tikking noise while using volume control
just 1 optical input
needs a bit more treble than neutral even with a set of the best loudspeakers ever made
durabillity remote control
no pre-out rear speakers
a-b-c presets banks in the radio a bit pointless
Bi-wiring speaker output, but just one amp per channel is a bit pointless

Moscode 402Au OLT stereo power amplifier Review

George is adamant about the fact that the Moscode 402Au is not just a tube gain stage slapped onto a solid-state power amplifier; rather, it is a tube amplifier with a MOSFET output stage.

Lowther’s DX-65 driver in the Teresonic Magus XR Review

A new driver from Lowther is real news. A new five inch driver is even rarer news, so it was with great anticipation that I waited on this pair of speakers to arrive.

Aune Mini Headphone DAC User Review

The unit arrived from China well packed and everything seem to be in place. No external abuse by the carriers. The only problem was the power supply it came with. The box came with a cheap step-down converter.
