from a&b sound Summary: A nice clean sounding reciever, with plenty of video and digital interfaces.
I use it as a pre for my main channels, and as the Amp for the center and rear speakers. As it was a replacment for my CDP connected directly to the power amp., it's DAC and sound is better. 12 years and 192Ksps/24Bit do good the audio.
It has somuch space in between the tunes, a lot of air and clearuty. Low's are tight and very presuiding. The sound stage with SACD as well with Audiophile CDs is fantastic. Almost to touch the players...with the eyes closed.
On video, it is as good as it could be. Cables HD is stuning. Also my upconverted DVDs look good. Still need to find out about sorround and Full HD.
They just going to make the deal better.
For my rating, sorry it got a 4/5 because the remote. For the value, it is a lot of reciever for the $ so it got a 5/5. Strengths: Good Audio - DAC very good (much better then on my previouse SONY TA-2000ESD or my CDP SONY 505ES. Love the HDCD onboard. Looking forwerd to connect SACD with the DENON Link-III.
GUI - nice and friendly.
Audyssey MultEQ XT & MultEQ Pro calibration works well, easy to setup, good results.
Very happy with the FM tuner. Sounds good, very good reception and fantastic stereo separation.
Good finish quality (panel, knobs etc')
Weaknesses: The remoth is a disaster!
It is so bad, that it is a crime to put this remote with the reciever in the same box!
No name editing, so I need to know my CD is called SAT etc'...My MD is DVR etc'.
It gets worm, so it needs a 4-5 inch (12 cm') space on top, to make it on the safe side.
