Review 1 of 2

Price Paid:  $200.00 from Amazon

Summary:
Love this little low cost bargain. Fits in a small area for a fantastic bedroom system which now powers a pair of custom built Seas metal cone based speakers. You could not ask for more at this price level, just fantastic built quality. I wonder how much they would have to raise the price to develop the unit to accept a detachable power cable.

Strengths:
Imaging is outstanding!

Weaknesses:
None at this price range

Review 2 of 2

Price Paid:  $128.00 from Dealznet.com

Summary:
Excellent sounds quality and power for a very little money. Amp can be bridged from 80W rms stereo into a 200W rms monoblock monster!

Strengths:
Open, clear sound quality with deep and wide soundstage. Nice looking product. Low profile makes it easier to place. Heavy - a good indicator that the toroidal transformer is sufficiently powerful. Can be bridged from 80W rms stereo into a 200W rms monoblock monster! AC outlet at the back is useful too.

Weaknesses:
Build quality is perhaps not the greatest.

Magnepan Magneplanar MG 1.6 User Review

In my judgment the advantage of the MG 1.6 (and other Magneplars), stems from the following: = It is a full-range dipole, and = It has uses low-mass, planar drivers for the whole audio spectrum. These attributes account for its extraordinary clarity, coherence, “air”...
