Strength:

Incredibly flexible, good tradeoff on hard vs. touchscreen...

Weakness:

Not you average remote, takes tweaking and some time to set up...

I think this is an excellent remote for someone who enjoys tweaking and playing with their setups. You can actually get a useable setup in a couple of hours but it's usefulness really comes out after you've done more and more revisions of your setup and start getting into some neat macros and page links.

The software that is provided is very intuitive and let's you design the entire remote on the PC. I had my recharging transformer go and RTI sent me another no questions acked very quickly, impressive.

A remote this expensive is certainly not for everyone, but it does have nearly limitless programability. You just have to play with it some. I won't go into too many details but if the price doesn't scare you, check out remotecentral.com for their review.

Also, I have a Sony VisionTouch reciever and this is one of the only remotes on the market that will control it. It's the main reason I looked at it in the first place.
