Bottom Line: I have had this remote for a year now, all the functions work well even the usb connection. The software is marginal at best, but you don't need a PHD to program it correctly. Competent computer skills will easily get you up and running with this remote.
Also, the range I use is 25 ft or so, and there is a delay in the RF frequency to IR sender of about .2 of a second, this means you just need to get 'used' to the remote and how it functions. Many of the 'programmable steps' that you can setup due not work without a large delay due to the delay in the RF signal to IR signal to audio equipment making the appropriate action from the signal.
Boils down to the fact that you will be able to use the remote right away, and your wife it will take 8 months (as it did mine, but now she gets it!)
I haven't had to do any maintenance, or call support. Solid product.
