Expandable. Configurable. Good looking. Stable and solid as a rock. Looks like a piece of furniture, which your wife will like.

Supplied back panel is pretty much useless. If you have more than just a few simple components, installing cables with the back panel on will be a pain. I would have preferred the option for sides instead, but this is nit-picking.

Excellent stand. Very stable and will hold all of my gear with no problems. I recently upgraded from a 36" 4:3 TV to a 42" wide screen and it fits perfectly. Assembly took a bit of time, but once it's together, it stays where you put it. I will not hesitate to purchase another Salamander stand of any kind.
