Strength:

Simple, beautiful, strong welded steel design, and an effective isolation device.

Weakness:

Perhaps a tad costly at full retail price of $399,but hey... Triangular frame design can possibly interfere with placement of some components.

The IIT-4 seems to be basically the same rack that I own,but mine is called the Lovan Classic I. The main difference is the distance between the shelves. Anyway,I have always found the Lovan design to be an attractive one for a number of reasons, and when I saw this rack in the Audioadvisor catalog on sale at half-price,I decided it was time to kiss my old wooden rack goodbye. I had just upgraded a number of components, and you know the old snowball-effect? Well,I was very pleased when I found out that Lovan was also giving out $50 instant rebates with every order! But,enough of the chicken-hearted economics for now. This rack is a perfect design for my needs. It both drains the vibrations from your componentry, and prevents air and ground-borne vibrations from reaching your components. It is modular,so it is stackable or able to be laid out in seperate platform-style,each section having identical adjustable spike feet. The construction is both rock-solid and attractive, each of four units acting as one when each legs chrome spike zeroes into the concave gold-plated nest atop the tube of every units triangular-beam frame. The weld-quality is fine, and the textured, thick black paint is very durable. The entire effect is very classy and well thought out. The rack came neatly, nicely boxed and was so simple to put together as well. The one drawback to the triangulated design of the frame is that any component with an interconnect or power-cable that exits exactly from the rear center area will necessitate either off-center placement of the component,or preferably, seperate stacking of that particular unit. So,check out the situation and plan ahead accordingly. Overall, the Lovan rack is a gem among the rubble,I think.

Strength:

Solid, looks, price, 3-spike design

Weakness:

3-spike design, not nearly enough room for all my stuff (but I chose the 4 shelf rack). Wish it had a bit more room between the shelves.

This is a review for the Lovan Classis II/4, not the T for taller version. I got this for $200 and love it. It is very stable other than it is a 3 spike design so if you don''t have a component on one of the shelves and hit your arm on one of the MDF shelves it can tip backwards, but no problem once your components are in place. I like the rack decently well, and has fit my needs. I cannot complain for the price and I like the fact that it has spikes and provides good isolation. If you can find one with a low enough price buy it. I looks really nice in almost any home decor, but especially nice in an audio room or HT room.
