This thing took about 45 minutes to put together and level out but once it was done...man what a difference it makes to have your equipment accessible. The Atlantic looks as good as any of my furniture and I didn't see any other racks that looked near as nice at any price. The level guage at the top is nice also.

The Atlantis Reference A/V rack is a beautiful steel and wood design made in Canada. The body of the rack is made of steel pillars that are mounted to a heavy steel top plate and bolted to a thick wooden base. When assembled, the rack is sturdy and solid.
The three wooden shelves (top swivel base, middle shelf and base/shelf) are made of some type of particle board or MDF, but you wouldn't know it from the mirror smooth, deep rosewood finish. I was relly impressed with the quality and uniformity of the finish on all the shelves. I tried to put my 50 lb. Yamaha receiver in the center of the middle shelf, and in a day it had started to bow a little, so I had to move it to the far left so most of the weight (the power transformer) was over the spike points.

The steel frame is painted flat black, and comes will all hardware, including spike points and mounts for the middle shelf (to offer some isolation), small ball-bearing casters for the top swivel shelf and feet or spikes for the base. I can't imagine putting a 200 pound TV on the thing with spikes on the base, but there they are. The four upright steel arms can be filled with sand or shot, as needed.

Overall, an excellent piece of furniture with great looks and performance. I found it at Audio Advisor: www.audioadvisor.com

In general, Reference is a great product. Exceptional build quality. Unfortunately, it is quite pricy. Judging the price vs. the value. I will give 4 out of 5.

The most beautiful audio rack you can find on today's market. Bought it at the list price, and love it. Solid, beautiful, match my Kef 107 rosewood speaker perfectly. Has little problem with the bottom shelf, Atlantis send me the replacement right away without any addition charge. Highly recommended!

Strength:

Beauty, functionality, capacity

Weakness:

time-consuming construction, possible to put together crooked even with instructions

I have had no problems with any shelves like other reviewers have encountered. I have a 50 pound Denon AVR-5700 receiver on the second from top shelf, and a 36 pound Denon DVD player on the shelf below it. As I started to assemble the rack, I noticed that the screw holes in the side rail appeared to be evenly spaced. Imagine my surprise when I finished building the rack, only to find out that the back left set of shelf-points were all about an inch too low! This caused the shelve to balance on only three rails. Despite this unevenness, the top shelve remained perfectly level as noted with the built-in bubble level. I solved the problem in about 15 minutes by inverting that odd rail. The shelves rest on points that are screwed into L brackets. The screws have not stops which means a lot of screwing and unscrewing to match the points on every level in order to level the shelves. A little time consuming but no problem. The rack is beautiful, but I don't own any other piece of equipment or furniture that is that deep of a rosewood color. Would have preferred smooth titanium silver color siderails with black shelves. Overall 5 starts. Super sturdy. This is one of very few racks I could find with at least 13" of spacing between the bottom shelf and the next shelf--a requirement for my little monitor used to see the output of my recording devices...

Strength:

Heavy, sturdy, and very beautiful(especially rosewood).

Weakness:

A little bit pricy.

Atlantis Reference Audio Rack is built like a tank. It's heavy, steady, and very beautiful(especially rosewood). All shelfs are made from high quality material and are all spiked to sepearate each equipment. IMO, it exceeds, or at least, meets high expectation of serious audio lovers. All I can tell you is "Great".
