The complete stand is manufactured from heavy gauge steel and the assembly is made using upgraded high tensile fixings to maintain optimum rigidity. The centre column has the facility to be filled with mass loaded material such as sand or Atabites (lead shot). The top plate is manufactured from 4mm thick steel plate and carpet spikes are supplied as standard.

Summary:
(Nexus 6 24-inch stand) What a great stand for the money. All steel construction, thick top plate, fill-able center column, spiked base, etc. What more could you ask for in a budget stand? I used some Blu-Tak to couple my monitor speakers to the top plate. I also filled the center columns with sand to further dampen the structure and add weight for stability. I can't detect any distortion as a result from using these stands. The bass is tight, the imaging is superb, no resonances.

Strengths:
Great construction. Excellent value!

Weaknesses:
The screws used to bolt the top plate onto the posts can back-off over time. You really have to overtighten with a large screwdriver. A little Lock-Tite on the threads would solve this problem.
