Price Paid:  $125.00 from Audiogon

Summary:
I initially bought the power link super for my Pass Aleph P preamp, which is partnered to an Aleph 5 amp. The difference in sound was huge over the stock cord - warm, powerful, natural and engaging. I bought two more (used). However, like all things in life there is no one panacea, in this instance I believe the highs in absolute terms are rolled off, or is that b/c there is none of the sibilance I have grown so used to through 20 odd CD players - the current model a Naim CDX. I plugged the super into the power amp and again, the sound provided was more of the same - rich, powerful with a natural sonic presentation. Welcome, as it gave the sound through my watt starved Maggies (3's) needed body. In all these older 'three network box' powerlink super power cords are excellent value on the used market and in my estimation a worthwhile investment.

Strengths:
Warmth, body and a welcoming presentation that is easy to get into - no sibiliance.

Weaknesses:
I suspect the highs are marginally rolled off.

Similar Products Used:
Nordost Shiva - 'deliver plenty of detail, but will shriek and rip one's ears off if system remotely bright.

Review 2 of 2

Summary:
I recently purchased the power link super from Definative Audio in Seattle WAUpon their recommendation I hooked up the power cord directly to my Denon DVD 2500 when I played the first note from my DVD DAD Glory the soudtrack the sound reproduction was astouding far better then the DVD 5000 or any DVD Player or CD player as well..The leading edge of each note was heard clearly for the first tme,all overtones of musical instruments were easily heard, the sound was no longer thined out but full of body and weight. The acoustical space around all instruments were wide and expansive, attack and decay on my Carver Signature Subwoofer improved dramatically ,it was reproducing air around deep percusive bass notes like never before. This power cord will absolutely make your dvd player State of The Art in playback ,buy it ,you wont regret it.This is worthy of 8 star rating

Marantz MA-9S2 Power AmplifierThe list above has one tenet that I continue to hold true: high powered amplifiers are necessary to reproduce the full dynamic range of music with most speakers. This became apparent when I changed from the 100 Watt per channel Bella Extreme 100 to the 250 Watt.....

The unit arrived from China well packed and everything seem to be in place. No external abuse by the carriers. The only problem was the power supply it came with. The box came with a cheap step-down converter.
