Summary:
TDK 74 Min Mini Dics Pro (MD-RXGPRO74EB) is a very high quality MD Dics. The exterior fronts inside from 'iron' just like TDK MA-R Cassette Tapes from mid 1980's. It has a big plastic case, but I prefer small ones personally. The disc can accept New Hi-MD format too. I have tried it with my Sony MZ-NHF800 Hi-MD player. Of course the capacity is quite low compared with Sony Hi-MD disc but it is good for enjoyable listenning. 270MB Hi-MD capacity is good for 2:10:00 min of 256 KB/s Atrac3 Plus recording, with sounds better than the original 74min Atrac3 format. This means, 1.75 times more capacity gain is possible. 74=>130 passage is good for recording 2~3 albums. (I have also tried MD-RXG 80 non-pro version with Hi-MD format which is fine with the New format too. It can accept 2:20:00 minutes of 256KB/s Atrac3 Plus recording with better than original MD quality.) The shiney grey and yellow appearace of it is much better than unattractable Blue-Red Hi-MD Sony disc. Moreover TDK RXG 74 PRO has 4 screws at it's bottom side like at being cassette tapes that I have tought of replacing the discs with Sony Hi-MD discs, but the Sony Hi-MD disc case is not openable! So I have give up doing this. I hope TDK will produce Hi-MD high quality disks like their Pro version soon...

Strengths:
Very high quality, stable, strong, says buy me!

Weaknesses:
Quite heavy to use on portable MD Players. Too big case, and the case is not holding the disc inside fine.

Similar Products Used:
Sony Hi-MD disc, Sony Premium Gold 80 disc. TDK 80 min non-Pro RXG.

Magnepan Magneplanar MG 1.6 User Review

In my judgment the advantage of the MG 1.6 (and other Magneplars), stems from the following: = It is a full-range dipole, and = It has uses low-mass, planar drivers for the whole audio spectrum. These attributes account for its extraordinary clarity, coherence, “air”...
