I use for many years the MA tapes's.
They sound very, very good.
Compared to some records made with cd-r's, they are more sound like vinyl, but with a great dinamic, precision, and low back noise.

power, dinamics, low back noise

Weaknesses:
price, compared with audio cd-r's
