Summary:
I have had my Runco DTV-5800 (new version, based on the 'H' Toshiba - thereare still older models out there based on the 'G' Toshiba) for around a month
now. I have the diffusion (Stewart) screen option, as my home theater room is
completely light controlled. The picture is fantastic. Unlike other "affordable" sets on the market, the line doubler performance is only limited by the resolution of the media. Even very poor material (like a dubbed SLP VHS tape) is watchable. This isn't the case with other sets. I recently watched Bug's Life on DVD (component). I doubt if you could have told the picture from a film projector, it was so good. With the diffusion screen, the proper comparison is to front projectors, not to other rear projectors. Highly recommeded, though don't get the diffusion screen unless you watch in a darkened room. Runco now pre-screens orders for this option.

Seth

Summary:
This is a great product. The set is based on the Toshiba TW65H80. Runco takes the set, puts a new screen on it, does some internal modifications, takes special care on the adjustments, and adds a funiture quality cabinet. The picture is just fabulous. In my opinion the only RPTVs that compare are the Foroudja RPTV at a considerable higher price.
One word of caution. Do not order the Stewart Screen option unless you have a completly darkened room. I made this mistake. However, Advanced Home Theater and Runco replaced the screen with the lenticular version and did an in home set-up.

Runco = Excellent Products (5 stars) and Excellent Customer Service (5 Stars)!

The unit arrived from China well packed and everything seem to be in place. No external abuse by the carriers. The only problem was the power supply it came with. The box came with a cheap step-down converter.
