Review NaN of , from Tunbridge Wells, Kent, England

Price Paid:  $238.00 from Sevenoaks HiFi

Summary:
Blinding! Well chuffed! I never anticipated acquiring a set of speakers like these, and for only $238.00 Brand New too. Shame Rogers have gone under, thats all I can say.

Strengths:
Top end Clarity of the Rogers LS55 I cannot fault. Build quality also brilliant. Its like having a different CD collection... (No joke)

Weaknesses:
Bottom end lacking a little poke for my liking, but thats just me. Nothing else.

Similar Products Used:
Right up there with the Lynn Nexus

Review NaN of , from Oxford

Price Paid:  $400.00 from England, audio science

Summary:
These speakers kick arse in terms of power and base.
If you only have a 30watt amp they will sound !@#%$#%#.(above calls himself an enthusiast) Get a 150w.p.c Amp!
My old man has some and i have had trouble finding better ones (for price as well) in terms of overall depth in base and loudness without distortion.
These babys are bulit for dance, rock and reggae so get 200 squids out and go and buy some.
My other choice would be the AE120'S cos they are big they look the mutts nuts and will tear you in half with bass.

Strengths:
Deliverance of power and base.

Weaknesses:
It's look, unless you leave the speaker covers off.

Similar Products Used:
Nothing in comparasion with the price.

Summary:
I recently bought a pair of Rogers LS 55. I bought a pair of JMLab Symbol 12 first but those were totally allergic to walls. Since my listening room could fit in my pockets I had to find a replacement. Enter the LS55. Well... If you don't like the "British Sound" stay away from those. They're quite polite with the usual high from Rogers. I really like those LS2a/2...So did the bastard who stole them from my house but anyway... The bass is okay but don't expect anything astonishing at moderate volume. You'll need a powerful amp to drive those so they can do justice to a good recording. My little Cabridge Audio A1 with it's 30 W is not the best thing to have with those. The lateral image is quite good but the "3d depth" ain't really there. The good thing with those speakers is that the closer to the wall they are, the better they sound so there perfect for small rooms. So overall it's a nice speaker and with the right amp you'll be able to have a nice result. It is sad that these speaker are extremely plain looking, being only available with that dreaded black ash vinyl! So an okay speaker but I'm pretty sure you can have better for your money (check out those nice NHT 1.5).
