Review 1 of 10

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:
Bought this unit as DTS extension to my Yamaha DDP-2/DSP-E492 and I''''m facinated by the sound this little box is generating. The sound compared to DD is clearer and more detailed. Also try to get some DTS CD''''s and listen to Sting or Steely Dan in 5.1 ! You do not want to hear music in any other way. Simply connect your CD''''s Digital out to the Millenium and there it goes.

Strengths:
High quality build. Seems to last for ever. Great sound compared to build in decoders. Easy set-up

Weaknesses:
The relais do click when detecting/non detecting DTS. (not a great deal but there''''s always something). You need to make sure that your rear speakers do full range, otherwise you might be disappointed.

Review 2 of 10

Price Paid:  $250.00 from Private Sale

Summary:
This is one great DTS decoder designed for existing Dolby Digital owners wanting to upgrade to DTS or anyone who has 5.1 inputs. This unit can be used as a stand alone pre amp
meaning separate power amplifiers can be run off it(unlike some other similar decoders that require separate control of volume levels). I have my unit running via the 5.1 inputs of a Sony SDP-EP9ES Dolby Digital decoder(which i have been using for a few years)which in turn is connected to my power amps. The sound produced from DTS encoded DVD`s
and CD`s is impressive indeed. In comparison to Dolby Digital from my Sony,it is more dynamic, has an even more extended bass response with better separation(check out Saving Private Ryan DTS). It has 5.1 inputs and outputs(of
course),optical and coaxial in and a coaxial out(which feeds a non DTS signal to my Sony for decoding Dolby Digital). The only feature that might dissapoint some people is the speaker configuration. The Millenium has
only 2 selections being none(where the sound,eg centre is redirected to the mains) and on(where the full range signal is passed through). So if you have small rears or centres look out as this decoder is designed to output full range audio(but believe me,full range speakers do make a difference). Basically before i rant on even more,if you require DTS then you cant go past this little baby. For the price its a steal and i recommend that you audition one in your system today,as once you do,you wont be giving it back.

Strengths:
Sound quality,construction,simplicity,price

Weaknesses:
none

Review 3 of 10

Price Paid:  $360.00 from eaudionet

Summary:
This is a very wonderful, and needed, product for many people out there who have older Dolby Digital systems that want to upgrade to DTS. There is nothing negative I can say about this unit. For the price I think it is the deal of the century. This unit saved me $700 dollars or more when compared to buying a whole new pre-amp/processor. I was able to dig up some other reviews about The Millennium and many pros compared the unit to processors costing four times as much. The unit was designed by MSB. An innovator, and award winner, in DAC design and production. It sounds great and for the first time I was able to hear DTS, which in my opinion adds a lot to music, and I can see why it is the format of choice for Dreamworks. To boot the customer service at Millennium Technologies is great, very personalized service and attention to detail. If you need DTS in you system YOU NEED THIS PRODUCT.

Strengths:
Well Built, Easily Configured, Good Bass Managemen, Add-on Capability, Good Customer Service, Value

Weaknesses:
None

Review 4 of 10

Summary:
Make no mistake. This is a high end component. High end in build and sound quality. I use it with a Denon AVR-3200. Awesome for DTS music as well. Compared to DD, I'd say that DTS uses the rear channels a bit more. DTS seems to be a bit more dynamic as well.

Probably the best $200 upgrade going.

Strengths:
Performance, build quality, price, flexibility

Weaknesses:
None
